Whitsundays to hit television screens

Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

THE Australian episode of Network Ten’s top rated US comedy series Modern Family will be beamed to television screens across the nation this Sunday, April 27.

Segments of the series were filmed in the Whitsundays, showcasing locations such as Hayman Island and the Great Barrier Reef.

Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL) chief executive offic- er Danial Rochford said this was a major coup for the region as well as Queensland and in fact Australia.

“[And] it will certainly assist in reinforcing our region’s strong appeal in the United States market,” he said.

“Such exposure is worth millions of dollars in public relations value.”

Also due to air is the Channel 9 / Southern Star Entertainment production ‘When Love Comes to Town’.

An episode of the series filmed in Airlie Beach last December, starring local bachelor boys Kendall Nash and Doug Davy, who set out to impress 12 single girls, touring the nation in the search for ‘the one’.

An exact date for the screening has yet to be set but the network has indicated it will be reasonably soon.
