Ten­nis young­sters in great form

THREE ju­nior play­ers from the Proser­pine Ten­nis Club trav­elled to com­pete in the Mackay Mid North Open Age on the weekend.

Mika Stim­son hit the court and showed great skill and de­ter­mi­na­tion to fin­ish fourth out of nine com­peti­tors in the un­der-14 girls sin­gles and sec­ond in the dou­bles.

Kim­berly Azul fin­ished eighth in a field of 12 com­peti­tors from across the re­gion in the un­der-12 girls sin­gles while Seth Trinder fin­ished sev­enth out of a much larger field of 25 boys in the un­der-12 sin­gles and fifth in the dou­bles.

Many play­ers will now be gear­ing up to com­pete in the Ka­lynda Chase Ju­nior De­vel­op­ment Squad (JDS) ‘B’ cir­cuit tour­na­ment this weekend in Townsville.

The ac­tion won’t stop there for the tal­ented young­sters who will be re­turn­ing to Mackay for the JDS ‘A’ cir­cuit which at­tracts a large num­ber of ju­nior com­peti­tors from through­out north Queens­land.
