WHITSUNDAY TENNIS

TENNIS is buzzing following an action-packed week on centre court.

Tuesday and Saturday afternoon social tennis served up some superb rallies, with the latter event particularly well attended.

Plenty of high quality doubles matches were played, with Merle Foot, Betty Wilson and Rae Miller, John West and Rex Robinson just a few names enjoying the afternoon’s play.

Tuesday night social tennis was a smashing evening, with clear skies and entertaining games a feature on all courts.

Rick Galea, Daniel Scott, Mika and Yoko Stimson and Tad and Anna Nowicki were just a few star participants on the night.

Thursday evening had it all; top shots, top company and the top combination of mother and son team Jenny and Robert Southern.

Cardio Tennis makes a welcome return tonight (Thursday, April 24), commencing at 6pm.

Those interested are reminded tennis skills aren’t essential. Coaching pupils of the week are sisters Demi and Macey Cursio, who teamed up for an enlightening lesson.

Whitsunday Tennis would also like to wish good luck to those travelling to Townsville for the Junior Development Round Robin Tournament this weekend.

Additionally, ‘Just do it’ junior social tennis will resume on April 28 ahead of the Junior Development Round Robin Tournament in Mackay ( May 3-4) - names for this event are required ASAP. For more information on all things tennis, contact Tennis Whitsunday on 0418 866 808.
