TVs need to be re-tuned
LOCAL residents are reminded that all free-to-air television channels in Airlie Beach and surrounding areas, changed to new frequencies yesterday (Wednesday, June 25).
The television retune is part of a national programme, to be completed by the end of 2014, which will free up space for new services such as mobile broadband.
After channels have changed, viewers will need to retune their digital TV, set-top box or digital TV re- corder to find the channels that have moved. Areas affected yesterday include Airlie Beach, Flametree, Jubilee Pocket, Cannonvale, Cannon Valley, Woodwark and Mandalay.
Shute Harbour residents will retune today (June 26) and Proserpine on July 2. Parts of Proserpine will retune on July 3. Retuning is done using the remote. A video and threestep guide to retuning is available on the website www.retune.digitalready.gov.au.
