POLICE are continuing to focus on public order in the Airlie Beach CBD, with an increased high visibility presence including lots of foot patrols.
In the past week there have been four incidences of people obstructing police, five public nuisance offences and two move-on directions issued.
The move-on directions were issued to two men, aged 20 and 21, at 3.50am on June 22. The men were later arrested for failing to comply. The public nuisance offenders were a Tasmanian man, issued with an infringement notice at 8pm on June 21, a 46-year-old Cannonvale man, issued with a notice at 10pm and three French tourists, issued with tickets at 2.30am on June 22.
There was also one liquor infringement notice issued at 9.20pm on June 21, to a person consuming alcohol in public in the Airlie CBD.
