Pub­lic or­der

PO­LICE are con­tin­u­ing to fo­cus on pub­lic or­der in the Air­lie Beach CBD, with an in­creased high vis­i­bil­ity pres­ence in­clud­ing lots of foot pa­trols.

In the past week there have been four in­ci­dences of people ob­struct­ing po­lice, five pub­lic nui­sance of­fences and two move-on di­rec­tions is­sued.

The move-on di­rec­tions were is­sued to two men, aged 20 and 21, at 3.50am on June 22. The men were later ar­rested for fail­ing to com­ply. The pub­lic nui­sance of­fend­ers were a Tas­ma­nian man, is­sued with an in­fringe­ment no­tice at 8pm on June 21, a 46-year-old Cannonvale man, is­sued with a no­tice at 10pm and three French tourists, is­sued with tick­ets at 2.30am on June 22.

There was also one liquor in­fringe­ment no­tice is­sued at 9.20pm on June 21, to a per­son con­sum­ing al­co­hol in pub­lic in the Air­lie CBD.
