Air­lie goes to Ve­gas for a night

MORE than 150 lo­cal res­i­dents at­tended the Las Ve­gas themed Ray White Whit­sun­day Gala Ball at Capers on Satur­day night – and raised more than $5000 for the Whit­sun­day Sportspark.

Casino deal­ers from Bris­bane trav­elled to Air­lie Beach to take part in the event and most at­ten­dees were happy by the end of the night that the money was fake.

Ray White Whit­sun­day Prinicpal Mark Beale de­scribed the event as a suc­cess and said he had al­rea- dy had en­quiries about next year’s ball.

“It was a huge hit, ev­ery­body had a great time and ev­ery­one is al­ready ask­ing for tick­ets for next year,” he said.

More than 20 prizes were up for grabs with Bill Sharpe buy­ing the big­gest prize of the night - one night’s ac­co­mo­da­tion at Qualia Re­sort on Hamil­ton Is­land.

The af­ter party was held at Fish D’vine: Fish Cafe and Rum Bar with up to 100 of the guests at­tend­ing.
