‘Cars for Kids’ on show in Mackay
WHITSUNDAY car enthusiasts will travel to Mackay for the annual Cars for Kids motor show this Sunday at Caneland Central’s multi-deck car park.
The day will be jam-packed with more than 160 vehicles, from Ford’s to Holden’s, vintage cars and drag cars, expected to be on show.
The motor show will contain over fifty trophy and prize categories covering everything on two and four wheels.
The Mackay and District Holden Club secretary Darryl Barker encouraged car enthusiasts from across the area to attend the motor show.
“We have a lot of people that are car enthusiasts in the region and they love to showcase their prides and joys for everyone to see,” he said.
Funds raised from the event will be going towards Mackay PCYC and local schools.
Mr Barker said it’s an important event he hopes the community can get behind.
“It’s a great cause and we’re hoping that all motor enthusiasts can turn out with their cars and get behind our fundraising efforts,” he said.
Mr Barker said he can’t imagine a better way for families to spend a Sunday.
“A shopping centre is a great venue for a car show, it's clean, undercover from the elements and you get the best of both worlds, Dad and the kids can look at the cars and Mum can get some peace and quiet and go shopping,” he said.
The event will include activities for the whole family to enjoy including face painting, trivia games and a sausage sizzle.
Entries are still open for Sunday’s car show.
