Tropical flavour to music at Paddy’s

Whitsunday Times - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

THE latest band to take the stage at Paddy’s is Tropical T and the Coconut Boys, who are playing from June 25-July 6.

Made up from some of the members of hit band Pigeon, Tropical T and the Coconut Boys is a brand new outfit, especially formed for the next couple of weeks’ gigs.

Bass player Chris Paget said most of the band members had visited Airlie before and were looking forward to coming back and bringing “a bunch of fun”.

“It’s a covers band we’ve put together specifically with Airlie Beach in mind,” he said.

“It’s party tunes and it’s all about having fun.”

Along with Chris, the band consists of Luke Cuerel on keyboard and saxophone, Aaron Day on keyboard, Isaac Cavallaro on drums and Tiana Naug on vocals.

“Tiana has a fantastic RnB style voice and she’s jazz- trained,” Chris said.

“And the rest of us have all played together in a variety of bands.”

Promising something for everyone, Chris encouraged the local community to get down to Paddy’s at least once in the next two weeks.

“I imagine it’s pretty cold up there at the moment, so if you want to warm up a little bit, come down for a party,” he said.

Entry to Paddy’s is free from Sunday-Thursday and before 10.30pm on Friday and Saturdays. After this time on these nights only, a $10 cover charge applies.

TROPICAL T: Tiana Naug is the frontwoman for Tropical T and the Coconut Boys, who are playing at Paddy's Shenanigans in Airlie Beach, from June 25-July 6.
