Show proves a hit with kids

Whitsunday Times - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

THE Proserpine Show had it all last week, keeping kids busy with a vast array of rides and activities.

The show, which took place at the Proserpine Showgrounds on Friday and Saturday, attracted children of all ages, but a particular favourite over the weekend was the petting zoo.

Meeting goats, chickens and ducks among other farm friends proved a hit, especially with families, while those who love action were well served by quad bikes.

The regular attractions like the ferris wheel, bumper cars and the timeless teacup rides also received workouts.

The entertainment wasn’t just for the children either, with popular stuntman MC Scoot interacting with the crowd during his eye-popping chainsaw and fire juggling acts.

And of course it isn’t a show without show bags, enabling the kids to take home a piece of the 2014 carnival with a wide-range of themes to choose from.

PETTING ZOO: Bronte Taotofi, 14 months, and Diane Jones meet a friendly rooster at the Proserpine Show on Friday.

BUCKLE UP: George Canfield with young Kiera Chohan, 4, preparing for a ride on the bumper cars during the Proserpine Show on Friday.
