Amcal naturopath will close the gap

Whitsunday Times - - LOOK GOOD FEEL GOOD -

WITH a wealth of experience, Naturopath June Gobbos strives to close the gap between pharmaceutical and natural therapies in the Whitsunday region.

Cannonvale’s Amcal Pharmacy has employed a Naturopath to assist in their customer’s optimum care.

Customers can receive a one-on-one consultation with Ms Gobbos, who will be based in the herbal and vitamin supplement dispensary.

Ms Gobbos said her primary objective was to provide the Whitsunday region with options for their health.

“I want to teach people that there are options in everything in life,” she said.

She wants to end the age of old debate of naturopathic medicine versus pharmaceutical medicine.

“When I was a student it was very much “us against them” and my study proved that they can work together for the benefit of mankind,” she said.

“A lot of people don’t realise that nutritional supplements can support people while they are on pharmaceutical medication that’s really important to know,” she said.

Continuously learning, the self acclaimed ‘old school’ naturopath said it was important to keep studying so she could offer her best advice to customers.

Ms Gobbos also offers in-store allergy tests for customer convenience.

“Only six years ago, you had to send away blood tests now with one pinprick we can provide a reading within an hour or so,” she said.
