Win­ter re­sults warm­ing for lo­cal pony club

PONY CLUB

CAN­NON­VA­L­LEY Pony Club is rel­ish­ing in win­ter, boast­ing im­pres­sive re­sults.

Amy Gray, Abby Lee and Lach­lan Gray trav­elled to North Mackay Pony Club for a gymkhana a fort­night ago.

Amy and horse Dar­lina placed in ev­ery event for the 11-13 year group, be­fore ul­ti­mately be­ing crowned the win­ner.

Abby and Bella won the 9-11 years cham­pi­onship and fin­ished third in the rider class.

Lach­lan on Nina fin­ished third in the 9-11 years, plac­ing in most events and fin­ish­ing sec­ond in the com­bined boy/ girl rider class.

Last week­end Equine Con- nec­tions’ Mandy Probyn con­ducted a foun­da­tion clinic.

Twelve lo­cal adult rid­ers gained plenty of knowl­edge and train­ing tips, with begin­ner to ad­vanced stu­dents learn­ing plenty of all equine dis­ci­plines, in­clud­ing plea­sure, western, draft­ing, showjump­ing and dres­sage.

All in at­ten­dance learnt new train­ing tech­niques and ev­i­dently grew in con­fi­dence.

The next clinic – “build­ing on the foun­da­tions” – will be held in Novem­ber.

This week­end will see Bree Wi­blen, Breeanna Purvis and Tori Mans­field travel to Sa­rina for their of­fi­cial dres­sage and com­bined train­ing com­pe­ti­tions.

LEARN­ING: Equine Con­nec­tions' Mandy Probyn hosted a foun­da­tion clinic for Can­non­va­l­ley Pony Club mem­bers at the week­end.
