AIMEE Mitchell has slugged out a tough win against Tiani Pauly in this week’s round of Proser­pine Squash.

Mitchell was tri­umphant in a grip­ping five-set match, win­ning 3/36.

The re­main­ing four games be­tween Team 2 and 3 were rel­a­tively one-sided, with clos­est en­counter be­ing Re­becca Richards 3/32-1/30 win over Brenda Cowan.

Alex Ogilvie-Knight and Pauline Ogilvie won in straight sets, de­feat­ing Deb­bie Brown (3/28-0/19) and Mar­ian Church­ward (3/27-0/15) re­spec­tively. Belinda Faust cruised past Nicki Mur­ray 3/ 27-0/7.

Di O’Don­nell eclipsed Andrea Mitchell (play­ing for Robyn Nixon) in an en­ter­tain­ing five-set match-up be­tween Teams 1 and 4.

O’Don­nell was tri­umphant 3/38-2/30.

In other re­sults, San­dra Watson 3/27 de­feated Lucy Pep­per 0/18 while Andrea Mitchell pre­vailed over Judy Hughes 3/27-0/14.

Lyn Muller and Joy Vi­tanza each had com­fort­able wins, with the for­mer tak­ing care of Jenny Mo­ramino 3/27-0/7.

Vi­tanza crushed Di Law 3/ 27-0/4.

Next week Team 3 plays Team 4 while Team 1 will bat­tle Team 2. Team 4 is in charge of smoko.
