Young Brah­mans show heart in Mackay

PROSER­PINE Ju­nior Rugby League’s un­der-13s and 14s have fallen marginally in their quest for vic­tory at the week­end.

The un­der-14s were valiant in de­feat, go­ing down to Wests 36-16 on Satur­day morn­ing.

Ben Cor­nish was the star for the ju­nior Brah­mans, cross­ing for two tries and also nail­ing a con­ver­sion.

Taine Browne also notched a try, but it wasn’t enough.

The un­der-13s fell just short of Wan­der­ers Gold at the week­end, los­ing a nail­biter 22-18.

Hone Bloomer was the star for Proser­pine with two tries, while Ai­den Taha also found the line.

Noel Waipape con­verted all three scores, but it wasn’t enough as the young Brah­mans fell four-points to the wrong at the Mackay Ju­nior Rugby League Fields on Satur­day.

The un­der-10s won their clash against Broth­ers 28-8 while the un­der-7s and 12s had a bye.

Wan­der­ers Green was left worse for wear af­ter run­ning into the might of the un­der-8s, with Proser­pine post­ing a con­vinc­ing 42-4 vic­tory.

Jay­den Peck and Jay O’Lough­lin led the un­der-9s to a com­pre­hen­sive 42-16 win over Broth­ers while the un­der-11s also posted a solid 32-0 vic­tory.

The un­der-6s also joined the win­ner’s cir­cle, boast­ing an easy 28-4 vic­tory against Broth­ers Black.

This week­end Proser­pine games will be played at Norths.
