Touch time arrives
THE Whitsunday Touch season will officially start on Monday, following weeks of practice and grading matches.
Powered By Murphy, Go On Then, Boxheads and Brahmans have combined to make one “super team” in this year’s A-grade competition, meaning there are now 15 sides who have been split into A, B and C-grades. Each grade consists of five teams, and sides will get a bye every five weeks.
In addition to the benefit of a more even standard competition, the latest development means there will now by four time slots a week as opposed to three.
Whitsunday Touch is now attempting to create a junior competition for kids aged 11-15 and possibly a women’s and men’s over 35 tournaments.
