THE Whit­sun­day Touch sea­son will of­fi­cially start on Mon­day, fol­low­ing weeks of prac­tice and grad­ing matches.

Pow­ered By Murphy, Go On Then, Box­heads and Brah­mans have com­bined to make one “su­per team” in this year’s A-grade com­pe­ti­tion, mean­ing there are now 15 sides who have been split into A, B and C-grades. Each grade con­sists of five teams, and sides will get a bye ev­ery five weeks.

In ad­di­tion to the ben­e­fit of a more even stan­dard com­pe­ti­tion, the lat­est devel­op­ment means there will now by four time slots a week as op­posed to three.

Whit­sun­day Touch is now at­tempt­ing to cre­ate a ju­nior com­pe­ti­tion for kids aged 11-15 and pos­si­bly a women’s and men’s over 35 tour­na­ments.
