Can­nons splash at short course car­ni­val

THE Can­non­vale Can­nons Swim­ming Club has made a splash at the Gar­dens Short Course Car­ni­val at the week­end.

Can­nons head coach Mark Erick- son praised all that com­peted, es­pe­cially Emma Ho­gan, An­gus Men­zies and Ivan Van Zyl who qual­i­fied for the North Queens­land Level 3 Devel­op­ment Squad.

“The kids did re­ally well, post­ing some very good times and show­ing good skills and great at­ti­tudes,” he said.

Ivan, Kyle Ken­dall, Emma, Piper O’Grady, Chloe Robert­son, An­gus Men­zies, Jack­man Ro­manella and Dy­lan Bar­beler all pro­duced state times at the car­ni­val for their re­spec­tive events, il­lus­trat­ing the swim­ming tal­ent on of­fer in the Whit­sun­days.

Olivia Ro­manella, Alessan­dra Ro­manella, Mika­haila Flint, Ky Erick­son, Rylee Erick­son, Kasey Ho­gan, Kierin McGoldrick, Jor­dan Men­zies, Han­nah Crit­ten­den, Made­line McGoldrick, Stephanie McGoldrick and Natalie Milne also gained PBs at the meet in Townsville.
