Fi­nal twi­light preps sailors for race week

THE fi­nal twi­light race be­fore the 25th Vi­sion Sur­veys Air­lie Beach Race Week was held last Wed­nes­day in ideal 15-knot winds.

A fleet of 19 yachts headed out to the course set in Pioneer Bay with Fan­ta­sia 2 (An­drew Stran­sky), Tulip (Bernie van’t Hof) and Mas­quer­ade (Tom Vu­jasi­novic), tak­ing the best starts across the di­vi­sions.

Fan­ta­sia 2 con­tin­ued a great race to win ahead of Drum­beat (Brian For­rester), in Divi­sion 1.

Tulip also blitzed the Divi­sion 2 field to win on line hon­ours and cor­rected time ahead of Queens­land Ma­rine Ser­vices (John Gal­loway) and Reig­ni­tion (Charles Wal­lis).

Mean­while in Divi­sion 3, Riff Raff (Dan White), used the weather con­di­tions to his ad­van­tage to win on line ho- nours and cor­rected time ahead of Serendip­ity (Roger Boast) and Mas­quer­ade.

There was no twi­light race this week with Vi­sion Sur­veys Air­lie Beach Race Week con­tin­u­ing un­til Fri­day, Au­gust 15.
