WHITSUNDAY TENNIS

THE weekend’s blustery conditions had tennis players sailing all over the court.

Those out making the afternoon a winner were Anna and Tad Nowicki and Cheryl and John West, while Keith Miles defied injury to return.

Tuesday and Thursday night social tennis had calmer conditions, but on the court the action was faster than a hurricane, with both singles and doubles fixtures enjoying strong outings.

Fit, Fun Tennis – the upbeat workout on a tennis court – was a torrid affair on Thursday night.

The Nicholson brothers kept a steady pace, as did Jenny Southern.

Friday morning was full of giggles, with Susan Butler and Celia Smith particularly chirpy.

Just Do It Junior Social Tennis on Monday afternoon had Kybie Phillips and Robbie Vrind on court.

Congratulations to Trent Murray for winning his division at the Junior Development Series tournament in Homehill earlier this month.

Amy Hungerford also enjoyed a strong competition.

The next Junior Development Series fixture will be held in Ingham on August 30-31.

The coaching pupils of the week were Oliver and Flynn Purcell, for their incredible rallies.
