Big win for Premier men
WHITSUNDAY Football Club’s premier men are up and about following a stunning 6-1 win over Country United at the weekend.
Luke Hillery and Mark Killian each scored braces on Saturday afternoon, as the men cruised to their eighth win of the season.
Samuel Watt and Jarrod Lee also found the back of the net, as last year’s grand finalists enjoyed a consistent 90minute effort at Country United Fields.WFC remain in third spot, just one competition point behind Magpies (28).
This week the premier men will face the ladder-leading Lions on Saturday.
It was all systems go for MCL on Saturday, romping to a convincing 4-0 win over Country United.
Captain Matthew Page bagged two goals, while Matt Stainlay and Jake Flaherty also scored.
MCL led 2-0 at halftime before doubling its advantage in the final 45 minutes, consolidating its spot in third.
This weekend the MCL will face Sarina from 3pm.
The reserves came from behind to secure a draw against Wests on Saturday night at Country United Fields.
WFC trailed 1-0 at halftime, before Andrew Hodgen came to life in the second half. Hodgen booted two goals, as the reserves managed to snare a crucial point in the 2-2 draw. WFC is fourth on the ladder with 23 competition points, behind Lions (36), Magpies (32) and City Brothers (29).
This weekend they will play Lions.
