Stunning turnaround for under-14s

Whitsunday Times - - SPORT -

THE under-14s turnaround is one of the feel good stories of the year from the Proserpine Junior Rugby League Club.

From a team that used to get flogged by 40 to 50-points each game, the young Brahmans have now made the finals for the first time in club history.

The club celebrated its finals berth with an impressive 20-12 win over the Souths Sharks at the Mackay Junior Rugby League Fields on Saturday morning, playing mistake-free football.

Coaches Kevin Young and Brad Penhallurick were extremely proud of the group, who have trained hard all year while promoting a team-first mentality.

The boys are hopeful of a good result when they face Magpies on Saturday afternoon in the semi-final.

The under-14s finished the home-and-away season in fourth place with eight victories.
