So­cial ten­nis dom­i­nates the courts in Can­non­vale

WHIT­SUN­DAY TEN­NIS

TUES­DAY so­cial ten­nis was a knock­out af­fair this week.

In the af­ter­noon the girls en­joyed an en­ter­tain­ing set of ladies dou­bles with clas­sic cross-court ral­lies a fea­ture.

Merle Foot, Kay Hoare, Rae Miller and Anna Now­icki all stood out.

In the even­ing it was the men who shone, with Dar­ren Rusk, Keith Miles, Rick Galea and Tad Now­icki all im­press­ing.

Just Do It Ju­nior So­cial Ten­nis was a lively af­fair. The match of the af­ter­noon was between Cameron Rusk and Cameron Rogers, who played Si­enna Mau and Re­beka Bev­eridge.

The boys won, how­ever the girls took out the re­match later on.

Matthew Cowan and Jesse Cowan also played a game. Wed­nes­day War­riors had a guest coach in at­ten­dance, who fo­cussed on fit­ness.

The ses­sion made for a lively af­fair, with Nick Cullen and Sam John­son run­ning ragged.

So­cial ten­nis last Thurs­day saw Les­ley Nolan and Matthew New­ton face off.

Fit, Fun Ten­nis – the up­beat work­out on a ten­nis court – was a bustling af­fair on both Thurs­day even­ing and Fri­day even­ing. Coach Jenny Kirk­man kept ev­ery­one on their toes, while Ta­nia Dorr also re­turned to ac­tion. Josh King was the coach­ing pupil of the week.
