"WELL done to Adani CEO Capt' Sandeep’s team for their thorough Abbot Point presentation last Wednesday.
This followed the scurrilous one sided 4 Corners program on the Monday by an increasingly misguided "water melon ABC" (green on the outside red in the middle), displaying the ease with which the general public has been seduced on this minuscule BAP dredging project.
The deceitful use of the GBR as a Trojan horse to stop coal exports for a duplicitous global warming agenda by Getup, Greenpeace, WWF and other so called "marine conservation" groups has been alarming.
I remain gob smacked how millions of dollars of donations has flowed so freely by an unsuspecting public from all over the world.
So it was satisfying to see Michael Brown's Queens Beach Hotel team host an informative Adani forum attended by both state parliamentarians (Costigan and Menkins) and 200-300 people. While some media only reported Green views (who were not drowned out), all were allowed to speak including Airlie Beach reps on "water quality" issues and a farmer with "compulsory acquisition" concerns. I and others were impressed by the dignified/patient answers, of Sandeep and his team.
Sadly few media reported the real benefits to India espoused by the Adani team.
Adani aims to double it’s electricity provision in India (10GW to 20GW), to help lift 40 per cent of India that doesn’t enjoy regular supply out of a major life cycle poverty factor, abating high infant mortality rates from burning cow dung/kerosene alternatives. Sandeep’s team are up against it though, as a very selfish and effective Oz greeny minority enjoying 12,000kwh per person to power their homes, laptops/internet campaigns, seek to deny 1billion Indians suffering 1/15th or 800kwh p.p. permanently shackled to a low standard of living and health. This doesn't grab media headlines in Oz though. Rather Green's use of a deceitfully incorrect GBR threat does.
Keep on keeping on Capt Sandeep, George Christenson, Reef CSI’s Dr Brett Kettle/Dr Alison Jones and “Bowen supports BAP expansion”, as the real truth must inevitably shine through".
