Jihadists rejected

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY VIEWS -

ANYONE who leaves Australia to fight a Jihad overseas automatically forfeits their right to live in this country.

Australia will not tolerate terrorism or people engaged in terrorist activities.

There is no excuse for such barbaric behaviour, which is contrary to everything Australia stands for.

The Liberal National Government promised a safe and secure Australia and will not allow anyone engaged in Jihad or terrorism back into the country.

In addition to regaining control of our borders and stopping the boats, the Abbott Government is determined to keep Australians safe from those who have been radicalised, militarised and brutalised after engaging in terrorist activities in the Middle East.

A $630million boost to our security agencies (ASIO, ASIS, AFP, and Customs and Border Protection) will assist with tighter biometric precautions at our airports.

The Liberal National Government will soon introduce legislation to the Parliament to allow easier monitoring, arrest, charging, and successful prosecution and jailing of people participating in terrorist activities overseas.

The very first role of government is to protect our borders and our people and it’s good to see we now have a government who takes this role seriously.
