Calling out Christensen
I REFER to George Christensen’s ‘Stand strong’ in the Whitsunday Times regarding the threat of terrorism by ISIL. I also mention his national media release ‘NQ stands up to eco-terrorists’ on the 24th September. Mr Christensen has had many opinions regarding not only his constituents, but all concerned citizens of Australia.
Your latest comments: “green war”, “kill the coal industry, kill jobs”, “eco-terrorists”, “extremists”, “gutless green germs for the terrorists they are”, “activists” and “treated the same as anyone else who commits a crime or an act of terrorism” - how dare you. You should be ashamed of yourself and your party should haul you over the “coals”.
Are you stating that people who are concerned for one of the seven natural wonders of the world (The Great Barrier Reef) have the same ideals as an ISIL terrorist?
We are a democratic country and we have the right to fight for what we believe in, and what you are doing is despicable.
You are inciting hatred and division and may even create a local war that could result in violence; this is not a true representation of your constituents.
George Christensen “Standing up for Mackay, the Whitsundays, Bowen, the Burdekin and Townsville” - what a load of rubbish.
You have taken sides. You are dividing communities instead of bringing us all together.
There is no democracy in what you are doing. You have taken sides against your own constituents when your job is to unite the community. Lynne Barr CANNONVALE
