National sports hero to speak at major projects summit in Bowen
AUSTRALIA’S national sports hero and first Winter Olympic gold medallist, Steven Bradbury, will be in Bowen on Friday, October 9 as part of the North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) Major Projects Summit.
Mr Bradbury will speak at the summit dinner held as part of the event and will share his story of passion, persistence, triumph and setbacks with dinner guests.
Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL) CEO Danial Rochford, said he was excited that Steven Bradbury was able to join the dinner.
“Mr Bradbury is not only Australia’s national sports hero but an inspirational speaker,” he said.
Mr Rochford said the sum- mit dinner would be a great night for guests to hear about Mr Bradbury’s experiences, passion and ability to overcome setbacks.
“The famous moment at the 2002 Winter Olympics when Steven Bradbury won the gold medal when all of the other competitors in the ice skating finals fell over is probably one of the most memorable in the history of sport and we are looking forward to reliving this moment through Mr Bradbury’s eyes,” he said.
“Altogether, it will be an entertaining evening and a great opportunity to network with other industry colleagues.”
