WHIT­SUN­DAY TEN­NIS

MAIN­TE­NANCE at the Can­non­vale Ten­nis Courts has en­sured the fa­cil­ity is at the peak of its pow­ers.

Club pres­i­dent Les­ley Nolan put in the hard yards last week as the courts re­ceived a face-lift.

Tues­day af­ter­noon ten­nis ben­e­fited from the work, with Kay Hoare, Betty Wilson, Ch­eryl West and Rae Miller putting the sur­face to the test with a bril­liant match. Tues­day night so­cial ten­nis was like­wise a hit, while Thurs­day night pro­duced a quiet, yet up­beat af­fair.

Satur­day af­ter­noon so­cial ten­nis had it all un­der clear skies, led by Larry Madi­gan, Ian Eldridge, Keith Miles and Gra­ham Cur­tis.

The school hol­i­days have seen an in­crease in court hire num­bers, with grand­par­ents He­len and Eric Loft en­joy­ing qual­ity time with their grand­chil­dren.

Mean­while Ge­off Price and Mur­ray Lat­ter took on a heated game of sin­gles on Fri­day af­ter­noon. The coach­ing pupils of the week were Sam and Emma Din­nie. Ten­nis coach­ing re­sumes on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 7 while Just Do It Ju­nior So­cial Ten­nis hits off on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 13. For in­for­ma­tion con­tact 0418 866 808.
