Li­braries have eBooks

LI­BRARIES across the Whit­sun­day re­gion are en­cour­ag­ing mem­bers to take ad­van­tage of the great range of eAu­dio and eBook re­sources avail­able to bor­row via the li­brary web­site.

Mayor Jen­nifer Whit­ney said Bolinda dig­i­tal eAu­dio­books and eBooks were an ex­cit­ing ad­di­tion to the li­brary col­lec­tion that mem­bers could down­load for free from the com­fort of their homes.

The Bowen, Can­non­vale, Collinsville and Proser­pine li­braries will all be hold­ing a se­ries of free, hands-on tu­to­ri­als dur­ing Oc­to­ber to help peo­ple get started on the ‘Bor­row­Box’ ex­pe­ri­ence.

Par­tic­i­pants need ei­ther a smart phone, iPhone, tablet or iPad, or another de­vice that is in­ter­net en­abled.

Mem­bers also need their li­brary cards and non-mem­bers are wel­come to join be­fore the ses­sions start.

Li­brary mem­ber­ship for Queens­land res­i­dents is free.

Work­shops will be held at the Can­non­vale Li­brary next Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 14, from 9.30am-12noon and 2.30-5.30pm.

Work­shops at the Proser­pine Li­brary will be held at the same times next Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 17.

Book­ings are es­sen­tial and can be made by con­tact­ing the Can­non­vale Li­brary on 4946 1366 or Proser­pine Li­brary on 4945 0275.
