Search warrants issued for drugs
WHITSUNDAY Criminal Investigation Branch executed six search warrants in relation to the drugs misuse act last week.
The first search was at Solway Avenue in Cannonvale where a property was searched at 8.45am on October 7 and two men aged 24 and 26 were charged with possession of dangerous drugs and instruments used to administer them.
Less than an hour later police arrested a 46-year-old man at his Esk Terrace, Cannonvale address before arresting a 48-year-old man at his Lupton Place, Cannonvale address.
At 11.45am, police executed a warrant at an Eshelby Drive home and arrested and charged a 45-year-old Cannonvale man for possession of dangerous drugs, offences under the weapons act and resisting arrest. The following morning saw the arrest of three persons, a 16-yearold female, 18-year-old man and a 19year-old Cannon-valley man for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of instruments used for their consumption and producing dangerous drugs at an Abell Road, Can- nonvale address at 10am.
Two men were charged later that morning – a 32-year-old and a 59year-old man on four charges – possession of dangerous drugs, possession of items used for their consumption, producing dangerous drugs and obstructing police.
