Plenty of fun at trivia night

Whitsunday Times - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

The Zonta Club of the Whitsundays’ trivia night on Friday at the Airlie Beach Bowls Club was a sell-out.

More than 100 residents and visitors picked their brains and sipped champagne while answering 10 rounds of questions that were mostly about the Whitsundays.

Raffle prizes were donated from Zonta members and community businesses and food platters were supplied by the members themselves.

The winners of Friday night’s trivia went to Zonta president Noelene Helman and her group.

Ms Helman and her group are regular attendees at the trivia nights at the Reef Gateway Hotel.

The evening raised more than $2000 which is expected to be donated to education scho- larships for local young women and Whitsunday Crisis and Counselling.

Zonta member Cath Fernbach said the club members were over the moon with the attendance records.

“Organisers were really happy with the feel of the evening – everyone was laughing and enjoying each other’s company,” she said.

Members of the Zonta Club of the Whitsundays are already busy planning their next events with a Christmas party in the works and preparations for an International Women’s Day breakfast for next year already underway.
