Endeavour to benefit from golf day
RPS Whitsundays handed over a donation to the Endeavour Foundation this week as a result of the funds raised from the RPS Charity Golf Day last month.
The Endeavour Foundation received a cheque of $2788.50.
The foundation strives to support people with a disability to have the opportunities and choices of an ordinary life.
The money will be spread across the foundation’s disability and community services which includes home and community care services and 24/7 support for people with disabilities and frail age.
Endeavour Foundation sup- port and operations manager Jody Flaherty said the organisation was honoured to be the inaugural benefactor. “It’s nice to be recognised in our community which is something that is happening more and more. Our services are developing and we have got so much support from the community that has been a real positive journey for us – this has just topped it off,” she said.
RPS Whitsundays manager Scott Reid said the donation was a combined effort with the company’s more than 30 sponsors.
“We [RPS] just really want to thank each and every spon- sor for their contribution,” he said. Mr Reid described the RPS Golf Charity Day as a success and is confident they’ll be able to host the event yearly.
“It was a good chance for the community to get together in a relaxed environment and to network as well,” he said.
The day included 18 holes of golf, food and a presentation and networking night.
Mr Reid said their sponsors were already eager to be come on board for next year’s event.
He also said that other local businesses had already shown great interest in being part of future charity golf days.
