Awards aplenty at outrig­ger pre­sen­ta­tions

OUTRIG­GER

THE Outrig­ger Whit­sun­day club held its pre­sen­ta­tion night at the week­end, cel­e­brat­ing a myr­iad of achieve­ments through­out the sea­son.

Club pres­i­dent Re­nee Martin was happy with pro­ceed­ings at the Ju­bilee Tav­ern on Fri­day night.

“We had a fan­tas­tic turnout of ju­nior and se­nior mem­bers,” she said.

“The ef­fort ev­ery­one has put in to get the club where it is. The club mem­bers are prov­ing them­selves and have put in such a great ef­fort.”

Brooke Draper was the most im­proved ju­nior girl, while the boy’s award went to Daniel Norder.

The ju­nior pad­dler of the year was given to Ash­leigh Suchanek.

Of the se­niors, Ni­cole Brown and Blair Mitchell won most im­proved fe­male and male awards, while the women’s pad­dlers of the year were Ali­son Joyce and Ni­cole Brown.

Nick Bellinger was the men’s pad­dler of the year while ded­i­cated vol­un­teers Michelle Lynes and Re­nee Martin were ac­knowl­edged with the club per­son of the year award.

The pres­i­dent’s en­cour­age­ment award went to Si­enna and Layla Hu­son.

Outrig­ger Whit­sun­day also recog­nised Dale Mitchell and Phil and Tr­ish Cor­nish for their ef­forts through­out the sea­son.

The club’s spon­sors, the Air­lie Beach Ho­tel, Ju­bilee Tav­ern, Abell Point Ma­rina and Big4, were pre­sented with club pho­tos for their support.

WIN­NERS: Blair Mitchell, Ni­cole Brown, Ali­son Joyce, Michelle Lynes, Re­nee Martin and Nick Bellinger were all smiles as some of the win­ners of the Outrig­ger Whit­sun­day pre­sen­ta­tion night.
