Whitsunday Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

A REPORT about a twovehicle traffic crash on Page 4 of last week’s Whitsunday Times was incorrect.

The story incorrectly stated that the driver of a Hilux Utility had been charged with driving without due care and attention. This is not the case. The Whitsunday Times wishes to apologise to the driver and the owner of the Hilux Utility for the incorrect information published.

The correct story is that the two-vehicle crash stopped traffic in both directions for about half an hour on Shute Harbour Road at Cannon Valley on Sunday, October 12.

The accident happened at about 3.15pm outside Plants Whitsundays.

Constable John Bentley, of Whitsunday Police, said the 46-year-old driver of a blue Ford Falcon was travelling towards Airlie Beach when he pulled over to let a motorbike pass.

Constable Bentley said he then pulled out in front of a green Toyota Hilux, which was travelling towards Proserpine.

The driver of the Ford Falcon was charged with driving without due care and attention and has been issued with a Notice to Appear (NTA) in court.
