False name

GIV­ING a false name was just one of the of­fences a 31-year-old Wood­wark man found him­self charged with after be­ing in­ter­cepted in Can­non­vale last week. The man was driv­ing a Toy­ota Hiace on Shute Har­bour Road, near Manooka Drive, when po­lice pulled him over at 4.30am on Oc­to­ber 16. Of­fi­cer in Charge of the Whit­sun­day Po­lice Sta­tion, Act­ing Se­nior Sergeant Brad Teys, said as well as ob­struct­ing po­lice by pro­vid­ing a false name, the man was found to be driv­ing while un­li­censed and with a breath al­co­hol con­cen­tra­tion (BAC) read­ing of 0.10 per cent.
