Building company looks to the future
WITH 20 years successfully under their belt, Cannon Valley’s Cumberland Constructions are now looking forward to the next 20 years.
The company pride themselves on their fashionable and eminent designs that have won them over 25 awards since starting business in 1994.
Cumberland Constructions coowner Kerrie Johannesen said the company’s plan is to grow with the community.
“We’re locals supporting locals – we’ll only ever source from local builders and local subcontractors,” she said. They believe their word of mouth reputation is a driving force behind their 20 years of successful business and want to welcome new arrivals to town.
“The Whitsundays is getting more and more transient and we always have new faces to address,” she said.
Mrs Johannesen is paying particular attention to the company’s Facebook page where customers have the chance to see local happenings in the area, see recent constructions and get to know the staff. She recently launched “Tradie Tuesdays” where she will post a photo of Cumberland Constructions tradesmen every Tuesday to amuse followers, which Mrs Johannesen said had been very popular.
“We’ve reached over 1200 people with these posts. I think customers are enjoying seeing us highlight lo- cal workers,” she said. Co-owner Ray Johannesen said he will continue to work on-site as often as possible. “It’s important to me that people don’t assume just because I’m an owner, I sit behind a desk and boss people around - I’m out there. I’m getting my hands dirty and that’s the best way to ensure a client is more than satisfied with their home,” he said. They aim to surpass their clients’ expectations with applied perfectionism, making the experience of building one of trouble free satisfaction, finishing projects on or ahead of time, and within agreed fixed budgets.
