Clipper Restaurant honoured

THE Clipper Restaurant at Coral Sea Resort took home the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services award at the Whitsunday Tourism and Business Awards over the weekend.

Coral Sea Resort General Manager Greg Waites said the team was very happy with the result.

“The chefs work very hard, they’re a young group and the head chef and sous chef have both worked in the south of France and they came to us two years ago now,” he said.

“It’s the second consecutive year that we’ve won and personally I’d like to thank the guys for their dedication and continual creativity.

“The menu is always evolving and [they are] keeping it fresh and keeping the concept relevant. The degustation dinner they do is a sample of the whole menu; seven very small tastes with a choice of main course and that’s available every night for a minimum of two people.”

Clipper Restaurant is a hidden gem for tourists and visitors wishing for fine dining with ocean views.

It is an absolute oceanfront restaurant in Airlie Beach where diners can enjoy relaxed oceanfront views in an al fresco setting all day.

“We’re naturally elated to be recognised by our peer group,” Mr Waites said.
