Northern Beaches Invitational win for Kinnear
MICHAEL Kinnear has teamed up with Suburban’s Peter Blackburn to win an invitational event in Mackay at the weekend.
Several Proserpine bowlers took to the road for the Northern Beaches Invitational 4s; however it was Kinnear who laughed last in tandem with Blackburn.
Closer to home John Lahney and Heather Brown defeated Norma Daniels and Philip Brown 21-18 over 28 ends while Jeanette Calway and Rob Taylor took down Fran Porter and Barbara Dammash 34-17.
Janet Mortimer, Lois Read and Joy Jeffries were also winners on the day, beating Arthur Williams, Dot Hinschen and Gail Camm 18-15 in a triples’ match.
The game of Consistency Singles scheduled to be played last Wednesday was delayed while Jim Quod and Shane Spann won a men’s B Pairs outing on forfeit.
Instead Spann played a mixed game, taking down Heather Brown 25-15 in a match lasting 23 ends.
The card missing from last week’s report has been found, with Fran Porter, John Dammash and Barry Zillmann winning over Trudy Hanne, John Henderson and Barbara Dammash 22-19.
The club would like to advise that nominations are open for the Val and Jean De Boni Memorial Day on Saturday, November 8. A team of four is required to play.
Last Wednesday there was one game of Senior Singles played.
Dot Hinschen defeated Trudy Hanne 17-14 in a hotly contested game.
In social play, Norma Daniels, John Lahney and Jim Quod defeated Janet Mortimer, Lill Burke, Arthur Williams and John Dammash 2011 while Carlie Albertson and Joy Jeffries won over Fran Porter and Gail Camm 22-20.

The team for this year’s competition is Noelie Dibben, Joy Jeffries, Dot Hinschen and Heather Brown; Norma Daniels, Flo O’Hanlon, Gail Camm and Joan McGrath; Janet Mortimer, Lois Read, Heather Patullo and Maree Daffara.
Wednesday, November 5 will see a Consistency Singles game between Lois Read and Heather Brown played, while Norma Daniels and Dot Hinschen will contest a Senior Singles match.
