Extra holiday flights
LOCAL residents and visitors to the Whitsundays will benefit from two additional flights in and out of the region during the upcoming summer holiday period.
TigerAir Australia has added additional return services from Sydney to the Whitsunday Coast on Monday, December 29 and Monday, January 5.
The flights will leave Sydney at 1pm and arrive at Proserpine at 2.30pm. They will then depart the Whitsundays at 3pm, arriving in Sydney at 6.15pm.
Tigerair Australia Commercial Director, Adam Rowe, said the airline was confident the additional seats, which went on sale last Fri- day, would prove popular with leisure travellers still considering travel plans this summer.
“The summer holiday period is typically one of the most popular leisure travel periods of the year [and] popular holiday hot spots like the Whitsundays, Hobart, Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne will all benefit from a boost in visitor seats during the Christmas – New Year period,” he said.
Mr Rowe said as always, the best value fares were snapped up first.
“And it’s the early bird gets the worm as the saying goes, so we urge bargain seekers to jump online as soon as possible to secure the best summer travel deals,” he said.
