Alice Sea returns to Airlie

Whitsunday Times - - CHILL -

AIRLIE Beach has welcomed back New Zealand duo Alice Sea, who will continue performing in the region this weekend.

Comprised of Alice Foote and Aaron Saxon from Mount Maunganui, NZ, Alice Sea has been playing at Paddy’s Shenanigans for the past two nights and will continue its tour this weekend, which includes sessions at Anchor Bar.

The duo, which play jazz, reggae and funk, performed in the Whitsundays in June, but are now back – much to the delight of Paddy’s Shenanigans entertainment manager Trevor Green.

“She [Alice] is amazing. She plays 20-odd instruments and Aaron is really good as well,” he said.

“They play half originals, half covers with plenty of reggae and funk stuff.”

The performance is set to include the sounds of didge- ridoo, slide guitar, tin whistle and flute to name a few instruments, as well as soothing vocals.

“We engage really well with the crowd and every time Alice picks up a different instrument people are blown away by what happens next,” Aaron Saxon said.
