Cannons blast PBs in the pool
THE Cannonvale Cannons have made a splash in Mackay, returning strong results from the weekend’s Great Barrier Reef Carnival.
It was a weekend filled with milestones for the club, with coaches Mark Erickson and Kenny Crittenden delighted with the swimmers’ efforts.
The Great Barrier Reef Carnival sees competitors swim both preliminary and final swims in the 100m and 200m distances.
Stephanie McGoldrick starred, notching a miraculous nine Personal Bests (PB).
Kasey Hogan recorded seven PBs while Hannah Crittenden, Mikhaila Flint and Emma Hogan had six each.
Piper O’Grady, Jackman Romanella and Angus Menzies notched five PBs, while Chloe Robertson, Jordan Menzies and Ky Erickson recorded four a piece.
Madeline McGoldrick, Ainslie Barbeler, Quinn McKen- zie, Rylee Erickson, Jacob Dewis, Dylan Barbeler and Ivan Van Zyl added three PBs each while Ali Romanella, Khaila Docking, Sarah Milne, Jai Stanes, Dylan Lee and Kyle Kendall produced two record times each.
Hayden Romanella, Kieren McGoldrick and Henry Docking joined the PB party with one each.
The Cannonvale Cannons have club nights each Wednesday from 5.30pm while squad training takes place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3.30pm.
