Handicaps falling after strong round
HANDICAPS are set to tumble following a series of low scores in last week’s October Monthly Medal.
Whitsunday Golf Club members took to the Proserpine Golf Club on Sunday, where Ernie Holstein claimed the men’s A-grade title on 69.
Ross Richards was runner-up with 73, while best gross went to Kym Hill and Ross Richards claimed the longest drive.
Reg Kercher topped the Bgrade field with 67, finishing just one shot clear of Ian Giles. David Hoy capped a strong day, winning the best gross score and longest drive prizes.
Tiina Randmae was the ladies’ winner, carding 64 and picking up the longest drive. Jacqui Wall was runner-up with 69 while Linda Wardroper claimed the best gross score. Nearest-thepins went to Wayne Temby (9 and 2), Ross Richards (13 and 16) and Jacqui Wall (16).
This Sunday the club will host the first round of the President’s Cup Series, starting with Singles Match Play.
Captains Ross Richards and Rod Wecker will advise their team members of their rankings for the week.
Tee-off is at 7.30am.
