PROSERPINE GOLF

THERE’S no higher accomplishment in golf than hitting a hole-in-one.

It’s essentially the Holy Grail for any non-professional golfer, and four Proserpine players have joined that exclusive club in the past 12 months. Chris Doblo, Harry Gellatly, Wayne Temby and Andrew McKay have all produced aces at the Proserpine Golf Club in recent times.

Last Thursday the four golfers were acknowledged for their outstanding feat with special hole-in-one shirts from the golf club. Doblo mastered no. 16 with a 7iron while Gellatly conquered the ninth with his 3wood.

Temby and McKay both aced no. 13, the former with an 8-iron and the latter with a 5-iron.

All four players agreed it was a euphoric occasion that highlighted their respective careers.

For Gellatly, Temby and McKay it was their first holein-ones while Doblo had two previously – but none at the Proserpine Golf Club.
