Cent sale to raise money for church
LOVERS of a bargain are called to the Proserpine RSL this Saturday, March 7, with a cent sale set to see any saleshark salivating.
The event is being hosted by St Paul’s Anglican Church in Proserpine, with the proceeds being donated to keeping their good works going in the Whitsunday region.
Not only a cent sale, patrons will be able to win prizes in a raffle and a lucky door draw also occurring on the day.
All the prizes on offer have been generously donated by local Whitsunday residents and businesses, lining up to support the church’s projects. There will be plenty of chance for a chat, even if you are serious about your cent sales, with doors opening at 12.30pm for a 1.30pm start.
Proserpine’s Girl Guides are also giving the event a hand, as well as the helpful grandchildren of some church goes, to deliver prizes to the successful bidders on the day.
It can’t be all seriousness on cent sale day however, with afternoon tea on offer to keep buyers’ bidding arm strong.
A cent sale classic of scones, jam and cream will keep the crowds content, with cold drinks also available to sooth the nervous bidder’s brow.
