Whitsunday Times - - CHILL. -

KIDS of the Whitsundays are getting ready to get groovy with the Wiggles coming to the Proserpine Entertainment Centre in June.

With tickets going on sale Friday, February 20, a stunning 300 tickets were sold over the weekend.

Sales have continued to be strong throughout the week, with only 20 tickets left and a second show now planned for the same day.

Proserpine Entertainment Centre owner Chris Patrick said tickets sold similarly quickly when the band visited two years ago.

“They came two years ago and sold out,” he said. “We’re very happy to have them back.”

This is nothing new for the Wiggles, who sold out 137 shows across every state and territory in Australia during 2014.

Mr Patrick said the act has become one of the nation’s best sellers.

“I believe they’re probably, apart from AC/DC, one of the top earning acts in the country,” he said.

Mr Patrick said the entertainment centre had built up “a good rapport” with the groups promoters, and said the band found it easy to play at the venue.

“We’re happy to see them come back, and they come here because we’ve got all
