Blast from the past for Wild Ones
THE Wild Ones have wound back the clock, creating hippie masterpieces during one of their sessions.
Late last month the group made Tie Dye shirts, with assistance from Annika Gardiner of Tizahz Tie Dye in Mackay.
Groovy shirts, dresses, singlets and pillow cases were made and thoroughly enjoyed, according to Wild Ones’ co-ordinator Ron Petterson.
“They loved it. They’ve been posting their photos on Facebook and they have been wearing them out and about too,” he said. “We all got our hippie on.”
Last week the Wild Ones were at it again, packing their bow and arrows for another night of fun.
The archery night was held at the Whitsunday PCYC last Thursday, and Mr Petterson believes the activity has sparked interest in the sport.
“They all got to have a chance shooting off a couple of arrows each and they all enjoyed that too... it was a really good night,” he said.
“A couple of parents inquired about archery as well. So it’s good to be able to let them have a shot at something new. That’s why every week is different so we can let the kids try different things.” The Wild Ones’ adventure program takes place every Thursday at the Whit- sunday PCYC. Tonight the kids will partake in a team building games night. For information contact Ron Petterson on 0408 544 558.
