Cruise in com­pany to Cid

THE Abell Point Yacht Club’s (APYC) first cruise in com­pany will take place next week­end on March 14-15.

The cruise to Cid Har­bour on the west coast of Whit­sun­day Is­land and a sun­set bar­beque on Sawmill Beach will be the club’s first so­cial event for 2015 out­side of the Abell Point Ma­rina.

Par­tic­i­pants are ad­vised to ar­rive in the bay be­tween 3 and 4pm on the Satur­day af­ter­noon, in time for the bar­beque which will start at 4pm.

Ice boxes, beach cricket and night lights will all be pro­vided on the beach as well as a break- fast of ba­con and egg wraps and juice at 7.30am on Sun­day, March 15. Par­tic­i­pants are sim­ply asked to bring their own boats, booze, bar­beque food and ban­ter.

For those who don’t have enough crew or even a boat to ride out on, the APYC com­mit­tee are of­fi­cer­ing to put the word out to mem­bers and match peo­ple to ships. The cost to at­tend the event is $20 per boat for APYC mem­bers and $30 per boat for non-mem­bers.

RSVPs with de­tails of the ves­sel and skip­per’s name and type of boat (power or sail), are re­quired by next Thurs­day, March 12 and can be made via email to abell­pointyc@gmail.com.
