Cannons keep slashing PBs
THE State Sprint Championships might be a thing of the past, but the Cannonvale Cannons continue to slash their Personal Bests (PBs).
The Cannonvale Pool was full of life last Wednesday, with swimmers etching a host of new records into the books.
Ainslie Barbeler took 9.54 seconds off her 200m IM time to finish second while Ky Erickson smashed his 200m breaststroke by 23.45.
Jai Stanes cut 13.32 off his 50m freestyle PB while the other big improvers on the night were Chloe Robertson in the 100m butterfly (1.20.55), Jacob Dewis in the 25m butterfly (20.21), Brianna Ganter (49.77) and Aiden Payey (58.18) in the 50m breaststroke.
Jacob finished with two firsts on the night while other winners included Dylan Lee, Chloe Robertson, Holly Thomson and Ben Valmadre.
This weekend the Cannons will travel to Townsville for the two-day North Queensland Championships.
The carnival will be the Cannons’ last major event of the season and they’re keen to go out with a bang.
