WHIT­SUN­DAY Food has claimed a tense one-try win to high­light this week’s Whit­sun­day Touch play.

The team posted a 6-5 win over Gro­godiles on Mon­day at the Whit­sun­day Sportspark while Eclipse/Jets won a sim­i­larly close con­test over Amal­ga­mated 7-5.

Ray White edged past Boat­ies 8-6 and Air­lie Mixed took the points over Wolves 7-4.

Can’t Touch This were vic­to­ri­ous over Chris­tian Col­lege 6-2 and Eclipse ran over Heat­stroke 8-2.

On Mon­day the com­pe­ti­tion will re­sume play­ing on the bot­tom field, which means the can­teen will also be op­er­a­tional.

Next week is also the fi­nal night where the early bird dis­counts will be ap­plied, with reg­is­tra­tion then in­creas­ing from $850 per team to $900 if not paid in full.

In other news the ju­nior com­pe­ti­tion has be­gun but play­ers are still wel­come to join ei­ther as a school group or in­di­vid­u­ally.
