Home invasion to be heard in higher court
A CANNONVALE man, accused of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one of breaking into a dwelling at night with intent, will answer to these charges in the district court.
Jay Colin Marshall’s case was heard in the Proserpine Magistrate’s Court on Monday, when he was committed for trial in Mackay on a date to be advised by the Department of Public Prosecutions.
Marshall has been on bail since his original court appearance last November when police alleged he assaulted a man at a Cannonvale home, before heading to another residence and remorselessly assaulting another man in company with a co-accused.
Police prosecutor Elizabeth Smith objected to the initial application for bail, which was nonetheless granted. Marshall will now remain on bail until his trial.
