Kick up your heels with bush danc­ing

IT’LL BE on for young and old at the Unit­ing Church Hall in Proser­pine come 7pm on March 28, with the re­turn of Bush Danc­ing.

Lo­cal mu­si­cian Bob Bar­ford said Aus­tralian, Scot­tish and Ir­ish dances are on the agenda, with live mu­si­cal ac­com­pa­nient and some sin­ga­long songs to boot.

“We’ll start with the sim­pler dancers and we’ll get more com­plex as the night goes on,” he said.

Mr Bar­ford also said he would be teach­ing peo­ple the dances, so there was no need to feel left out.

This year, Mr Bar­ford said he would try and host a bush dance night once ev­ery three months.

“Last time we held bush dances, by the time we got into the hall it was packed,” he said.

“It’s a re­ally good lit­tle hall for bush dances. It’s got a nice tim­ber floor, which is good for danc­ing on.
