Ten­nis aces come up trumps in Townsville

PROSER­PINE TEN­NIS

FOUR Proser­pine ten­nis play­ers suc­cess­fully chased suc­cess in Townsville over the week­end.

Seth Trinder led a group of lo­cals at the Ka­lynda Chase Open Tour­na­ment on Satur­day, win­ning the un­der-14 sin­gles and dou­bles ti­tles. Mika Stim­son was also strong in the un­der-15 girls sin­gles and dou­bles events while Mia Trinder pro­duced good form in the un­der-10s. Cal­lum Ogilvie Al­cock was the fi­nal mem­ber of the Proser­pine quar­tet, serv­ing up a storm in the un­der-12s.

The young­sters will con­tinue their heavy train­ing sched­ule over the com­ing weeks be­fore trav­el­ling to Cairns where they will rep­re­sent North Queens­land in the School State Tri­als.

Seth and Mika will be joined by Amy Hunger­ford, who will take on the best play­ers in the state.
