Launch date set for tourism book

Whitsunday Times - - WHITSUNDAY NEWS AND VIEWS -

LONG-TERM local and tourism pioneer is back from frolicking across the Solomon Seas and will launch her book Pioneers of Airlie Beach Volume II at the end of this month.

On Friday, March 27 from 2pm at Cannonvale Beach Library, locals and anyone with a story to tell are invited to the launch of Ms Hell’s second book.

The first book was released last year and includes stories and pic- tures from the tourism pioneers of Airlie Beach.

Ms Dell decided to release a second book simply because there were more stories to tell.

“I would like all those interested in history of tourism in Whitsundays and all those with stories in both volumes or just anybody who is interested in the history of one of the most popular holiday destinations in Australia to come,” she said.

“It’s important to be familiar with your history and this town’s is extraordinary.”

Both books will be on display on the day and Ms Hell will be taking final orders for Volume I and further orders for Volume II.

She is expecting a representative from the Whitsunday Regional Council to attend and says refreshments will be available on the day. For more information contact Dale Hell on 0416 273 598.
